I nominate Bitch, Ph.D.
If there is an ideal, pure blogger then it is Atrios.
I nominate Bluegrassreport.org, an amazing example of the power of one blog to create a political community in six months. It is submitted that this blog has informed, cajoled, assailed and generally organized disparate groups into an often thoughtful discussion on the political issues of the day. The blogger, Mark Nicholas, has filed ethics complaints against the Kentucky Chief Justice, organized public statistics in understandable form, called for higher standards from the left and right of the political spectrum, including mainstream political reporters. He is invited for public appearances on television and radio and generally has developed good sources in political circles and the media. Mark Nicholas is a great example of the ability a single blog to make our government more transparent.
While this blog clearly is a new "home" for Kentuckians everywhere, it has brought to the national spotlight issues that affect our nation.
